The internet changed my mind... This time!
Thanks for all your ideas and suggestions in the comments on my 3d printer enclosure video. I picked a few of them to implement into my design. 👌🏻

Nice work!
That song is feom kalki movie it ii new realise movie and indias bigest movie
The music is nuts. Literally distracts from your content. Please take note.
I uploaded the wrong file, and that’s my mistake, but I will say listening with AirPods vs phone/computer speakers makes a huge difference. 👍🏻
I would fvck.
You literally said it worked just fine. So the only difference is the transparency?
It did work just fine, it just looked old and dingy. I figured I went through all the work to make it look nice, I might as well install some new hose to finish it off. 👍🏻
@@brewbuilds Right on dude, it does look better. I just wouldn’t have made the same choice. I don’t mean any disrespect.
@MrAdeuhtyr 👍🏻
You didn’t like the color?
It looked old and dingy.
What is that machine with a pipe?
My only suggestion is to make something to lock it in the upright position... The last thing you need is for something to bump it, and it comes swiging down on someone's head
I couldn’t agree more. I still have a few loose items I’m finishing up, and that’s one I’m working on currently. 👊🏻
You're losing a lot of flow with the hose like that
I’m not a fan of hoses in dust collection systems when they can be avoided, but like in this scenario, sometimes there’s not a better option. I’ll be covering all the air flow data in the full video. I can say the flow (cfm) are actually good, and better than any of the setups that are available for purchase using the smaller 2” duct.
In our shops we would plumb to the box under the saw, as the saw spins, INTO the table, where the dust is optimally sucked out, underneath the table saw. Also, if you look, at the tablesaw, you will likely see the manufacturer prepared the cabine to receive the vacuum hose.
@dubbified my setup accommodates both, a 4” to the cabinet, and the 4” for the hood. You can’t effectively capture enough of the fine dust from only the cabinet, and is why I chose not to only run one 6” duct to the cabinet but instead run a 4” to each location which helps maximize total cfm in a 6” system. The hood also slows the the debris being thrown from the blade at (100mph or more) to lower amount to be captured, which isn’t possible doing by only hooking up to the cabinet. 👍🏻
You think the guy that did this doesn't know about dust ports? Really?
Great video work too. Love how the camera moves.
@@cottagemail4066 thanks👊🏻
This is going to be an EPIC build! Hope you plan on making any 3D files available.
@@cottagemail4066 thank you! I can definitely work something out with the files. I was going to talk about it in the video and see what type of interest there was.👍🏻
@@brewbuilds INTERESTED!
Cool little video. Good illustration of project. You have a good eye for camera and visual communication. One thing I’d say (as an old f*ck), stay positive. Negativity (complaining about difficulty of task) distracts from your overall vibe and message. Very watchable, interesting video on the whole. Good Luck
Bevel the pipe, it will go into the gasket better don’t know anything about electricity, but I know something about pipes…😂
After I about killed myself putting the 4” in, I looked up the specs for installing this stuff, and saw that they beveled and applied lube to it. My little de-burring tool and lube was as far as I took it. 😂 if I had more to do, I would have spent more time. 🤣
Then you are on your way to applying what you learn in the art of mastering life… don’t be afraid of something that you don’t know, just go a finger it out😊
Do you have any way to ground for static electricity?
@@BigDudeSchmu I don’t have a need to.
Yeah the grounding wire helps for static build up on the pvc and getting that annoying shock once in a while. Hey just got to say man nice install though 👍🏻
@BigDudeSchmu oh I know what you’re talking about. The duct has never been an issue for me, occasionally the flex hose can be. I thought you were going to tell me my shop was going to blow up if I didn’t have it. 😂 that’s the comment I usually get, I’m hoping that myth has finally died. Thanks for watching and commenting man. 👊🏻
Lose the music
Что это?
I'm so looking forward to this build! I love new ideas and seeing different materials designed and used on a single project.
It’ll be a good one. I have a ton of footage to go through, and a ton of info to talk on. Working on the full video edit now. 👍🏻
Maybe this one deserves the video to be broken into parts??? (Just a thought.)
Short and to the point. I've got etched glass cabinet doors in my kitchen and was wondering how these would be replaced with new glass. Thanks!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching and commenting. 👊🏻
That’s a few mods away from a potato mortar. 😂
Who says it’s not dual purpose! 😂
Great craftsmanship. Way to go.
Thank you. 👊🏻
Thanks for keeping it short and sweet. I started watching another guy's video but he started telling his life story. Your vid was about perfect.
That’s great to hear. It can be a challenge at times to keep it short and sweet. I’m guilty of rambling on myself. 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting!👊🏻
@@brewbuilds In my opinion, that was perfect. All necessary info included. Not that I don't enjoy people's stories but sometimes when I visit UA-cam it's to get info fast and keep the project moving. You were clear and concise.
@@danwildhaber8178 that’s great to hear. I’m always looking for feedback, good or bad. Thanks for taking the time to do so. It’s much appreciated.
Senses never fail
Another tease! Looking forward to the whole build.
I’m sorry! 😂 I’m going to finish it up this weekend and start editing the full video. This has been a fun project to build! Thanks for following along! 👊🏻
Were you concerned with gluing the form/template to the frame or the acrylic?
No, weld on 4 will only fuse certain types of plastics together. So there’s no real concern with it bonding to the wood.
Get some new ladders 😬
This video is 5 years old… and I still have that ladder! I’d also be willing to bet that ladder is as old as me, and I’m 37. 😂
@@brewbuilds my dad had one like that. When he was about 80, I stole it and threw it a big recycling bin at work. He would occasionally rant about his stolen ladder until his death, 9 years later 😆 Treat yourself to a new 6’ fiberglass, or one of those new platform types ✨
@procrastinator41 that’s classic! 😂 I’ve got few different setups now, but honestly for little jobs in the shop it works great. If it turns up missing I’m coming after you! 😂😉
@@brewbuilds 😆
Hi random question but is your name brewer because I have never met anyone else with the name brewer
My last name is Brewer.
That came out clean.
Think you! I came into this one with a plan, and it paid off.👊🏻
Nice work, also, I stayed for your song choice. Time to play the whole song myself.
Heck yeah! I’m glad someone appreciated the song choice!👊🏻
What’s this for
It’s an over arm dust hood for my table saw.
Ay so many other spokanites in the comments, whats good my neighbors
Awesome! Will you be posting a full build video?
Thank you! Yeah I’ll have a full video walking through the whole process. 👊🏻
@@brewbuilds Can't wait. LOVE this!!!
@cottagemail4066 it is going to be pretty sweet!👊🏻
Will this be a full video build eventually???
Yeah I’ll have a full build video. I like to post these shorts along the way and throughout my build. Then I’ll upload a more detailed video of the complete build. 👍🏻
But how do you know thta the A line is straight?
Straight or parallel? It’s a string line pulled tight so it’s going to be straight, if you mean parallel and in this case I was wanting it parallel to my driveway edge, I just measured and placed both stakes at the same distance from the driveway edge. I would venture to say they are with in 1/4” and close enough that you wouldn’t notice any deviation by eye. Hope that makes sense and answers your question. 👍🏻
Good video, but start with the end result so we know why it’s worth sticking around for the whole thing.
Thanks for the input! I’ve played around with that in other shorts and wondered if people even cared. It’s good to hear that type of feedback. 👍🏻 That’s how I approach my long form videos, but with my shorts it doesn’t always workout.
"...like a peasant" made me laugh out loud.
😂😂👊🏻
A person with wood, a tape measure, and inginutuiy can do incredible things
Glad I found this. Much I knew but the TAPE!!!! Wondering ... link is for 1-1/2" silicone tape, would the 1" also work?
Thanks for watching! Yeah the 1” should work, but keep in mind when you stretch it the overall width reduces so you may need to do additional wraps around the joint to get good coverage. I found the 1-1/2” to be the happy medium for using less product on each joint. Hope that makes sense. 👊🏻
It does. Thanks much!
@@cottagemail4066 awesome glad I could help. 👊🏻
An idea for your stepstool: on large marine engines where you need to access the valve train regularly, there is a fold down platform for walking along. The platform hinges on the engine so you can fold it up, and the support legs hinge at the end of the platform so that they hang down when the platform is folded up. Uses up much less space but is still very usable and stable.
You should use a hose from the collector tray in the dehumidifier and run it through the wall into the bathroom. Then you will not have to empty it out all the time.
That’s a great idea! I’m curious to see how much moister it pulls out this summer, and go from there. Thanks for suggesting that. 👊🏻
Whats the name of the tool your using? I'm from Bangladesh
I used a few tools in this video. Can you be more specific?
Nice work man! Anyone can build/make something, not everyone goes back to fine tune the projects.
Thanks buddy! I still have a ton of projects that need some fine tuning!🤣
Hi Rob, I'm happy that my idea was of use to you, great idea by the way for fixing the gap between the handles 🫡. Regards to storage for filaments, etc, have you considered cutting away a strip under the 3d storage unit basically making a open area but inside the plywood area making a box to act as shelving, that way your not adding anything bulky to the front of the wall but your able to reach inside below the glass doors and store your etra parts etc. As always, brother 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
It was a great idea, thanks for suggesting it! I’ve toyed around with the idea of a cubby underneath, it’s kinda tight so I don’t know if it would be totally worth it. I’ve got a few ideas though, so time will tell what makes the most sense.
You say your jig is MDF? It diesnt look like MDF. It looks like plywood. Also, it looks like a one-time thing.
The jig it self is plywood, I used it on mdf. I did make it for a one time use for the project I was working on at the time. It could easily be modified for multiple uses.👍🏻
Keep going dude! You'll hit it big someday, can easily see this hitting 500k in a year
Thanks buddy! I’m really trying to put more quality videos out. Hopefully I have a couple dingers this year.🤞🏻
before start this video, I have an idea that I came up with last night. I haven't told ANYONE about the idea. If that idea's in this video...🙀
I’m saving that idea for my next video. 😉
I don't think the "it would need an extra step to get up there" is a good argument against the flip down (definitely flip down, not flip up) step or lower cubby. You only need to get up to the second step on you step ladder, it'll take at least another 40 years before you can't step directly onto the second step from the ground anymore, so a similar height flip down step or cubby would work fine. I'd personally choose the cubby, but wouldn't make it directional in the direction you showed. Flip it 90 degrees and make it storage for stuff like filament, or other small random stuff you don't need to grab often. The long cubby won't work, since your small offcuts will be stacked, and you'll always need the bottom one. The flip down step won't work because you'll never want to put something in the way of the step, so at that point why not have a permanent one? I think a platform right there to move around on would be very nice, especially if you'd get more printers. You know that step ladder will just live set up in front of your printer cabinet 95% of the time anyway, so a permanent solution is usually nicer.
I’m sure I could make something work, I’m just not sure I want something permanent there as far as a cubby goes. To reach the power strip in the back I need to be on the 3rd step so if I were to make anything the swings into position it would need to be at least that high (probably 30”ish. Plus the step ladder is useful in a couple other areas.👍🏻 thanks for commenting. 👊🏻
First! 🏆 Thanks for the follow up video Rob. The improvements are pretty cool.
You were super quick to watch and comment!😂 thanks man!👊🏻
